Do not use the drivers on Y-E Data Web Pages for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer Product) models.

OEM models are shipped with their own customized drivers. Please use the driver that comes with your product, not the ones available on this page. If your Tri-Media Reader was not sold under the Y-E Data name, please contact your PC maker or dealer for support.

  1. Question:
    Will the Tri-Media Reader work with Mac OS 8.5?

    Answer:
    The Tri-Media Reader driver for Macintosh does not support Mac OS 8.1 and Mac OS 8.5.
    If your iMac has Mac OS 8.1 or Mac OS 8.5, please update Mac OS 8.6 or later. More information about updating your iMac is available on the web at http://www.apple.com/swupdates/ or Mac OS 8.6 Update.

  2. Question:
    Will the Tri-Media Reader work with PACE's USB Floppy Enabler?

    Answer:
    The Tri-Media Reader driver for Macintosh built-in function of PACE Anti-Piracy's USB Floppy Enabler. Therefore, no USB Floppy Enabler installation is necessary.

    USB Floppy Enabler is a special driver needed to install software that uses diskette-based copy protection or key diskettes for some old software. In this case, please refer to the PACE Anti-Piracy web site at http://www.paceap.com for more information and download the USB Floppy Enabler Ver 2.0 or later.

  3. Question:
    Why do I get the message "This disk is unreadable by this computer." with some of my disks?

    Answer:
    The Tri-Media Reader part of Tri-Media Reader supports Macintosh Formatted 1.4 MB, DOS formatted 1.44 MB and DOS formatted 720 KB diskettes. Be aware that the USB FDD does not support Mac formatted 800 KB diskettes.

  4. Question:
    Why do I get the message "The USB device cannot operate because it needs more power than is available."?

    Answer:
    Be sure to use a self-powered USB hub with AC adapter, if you use USB hubs. Do not connect the Tri-Media Reader to the USB port on the Mac keyboard. Please connect the Tri-Media Reader to the USB ports on the computer.

  5. Question:
    Why does my new Power Mac G4 freeze at startup if a Tri-Media Reader is connected?

    Answer:
    There seems to be a problem with some versions of Power Mac G4, iBook, and PowerBook running Mac OS 9.0.2 or Mac OS 9.0.3. See Apple Computer's Tech Info Library for more information.

    To work around the problem: unplug the Tri-Media Reader from your Mac before startup. After the Mac finishes startup, plug the Tri-Media Reader back in.

    Solution:
    Install Mac OS 9 Update (9.0.4) using the Software Update control panel. You can also download it from Apple Software Updates at http://www.apple.com/swupdates/.

    Answer:
    Yes, the Tri-Media Reader supports the Power Mac G4 Cube.

    Yes, the Tri-Media Reader work with Mac OS 9.1 and Mac OS 9.2.

    Answer:
    Yes, the Tri-Media Reader supports the Power Book G4 titanium.

  9. Question:
    Will the Tri-Media Reader work with the Mac OS X?

    Answer:
    Tri-Media Reader supports the Mac OS X 10.1, 10.2, and 10.3 - 10.3.3.
    Unfortunately, Tri-Media Reader is incompatible with Mac OS X 10.0.
    Using on Mac OS X 10.3.4 - 10.3.9 is not recommended due to a restriction caused by the OS. Refer to F.A.Q for more detail.

  10. Question:
    Why can't I unmount the memory card with Mac OS X 10.3.4 or later, and Mac OS 10.4?

    Answer:
    Tri-Media Reader does not support Mac OS X 10.3.4 or later, and Mac OS X 10.4.
    It is a restriction matter in Mac OS X 10.3.4 or later, and Mac OS X 10.4.
    Please use Tri-Media Reader with before Mac OS 10.3.3.
    When the memory card is mounted with Mac OS 10.3.4 or later, please eject the memory card from Tri-Media Reader after shutdown the Mac.
